Each time you interact with another person you exchange energy. Your energy goes out to them and theirs comes to you and while this is occuring you often feel this with changes in your body - whether you are relaxed, loving and open or maybe a part of you has closed, contracted and possibly beomce defensive or protective. We all have emotional and energetic responses occuring many times within a day. To ensure that you go about your day clear, it is good practice to make a regular habit of 'cutting the ties' after leaving everyone you meet or converse with whether reading, speaking or writing to another. This includes interactions with your partner, children, family, friends, anyone you have spoken with on the phone or via e-mail, energy through televison or other forms of media, people you interact with in shops...anyone, anywhere. The aim is to ensure any energetic 'chords' that people may have left in you are cut so your energy is free, untampered and clear.
Begin to be aware of how you and your body reacts after spending time with people. Does it change? If so, there is ususally something energetically going on. Then start to feel how your energy is leaving your own body each time you interact with others. Next begin to cut the ties each after each time you have engaged with another and see if you feel any noticable difference in your body. Does it feel relaxed and free? Are you more open yet contained with your own energy?
Cutting the ties is simple. All you need to do is have the intention to cut any energetic chords that may have been left in you by the energy of another. Often this happens unconsciously by them. Imagine a white sword that sweeps down about 10 cm in front of your body and then 10 cm behind your body. In one great sweep it cuts any energetic chords that have been left behind from anyone. Regular practice makes this an instinctual habit. It means that each time you leave any interaction you know you are energetically free.
If you find remembering this new habit difficult, then try cutting the ties in bed at night. Before you go off to sleep. Spend a few minutes recalling all the people you have encountered in your day and methodically go through and cut the ties with each of them. Simply to do and this exercise easily clears any energetic baggage that you may have carried during the day.
